Buying A Home ‘As Is’
In Texas we have what’s called an as is contract and people always worry that that means they can’t a inspection and possibly negotiate any repair or things like that if something is wrong with the home.
However in the one to four single family residence contract it says in the contract that checking the box ‘as is’ does not stop you from doing inspections and negotiating repairs at a later date.
So just keep in mind that ‘as is’ in Texas is making sure there aren’t any holes in the wall, flooring missing or anything in its current condition that you're wanting done upon acceptance of your offer but you’re still gonna do an inspection.
